  | Contributed by:Ben Well, I'm sad to say that it took me so long to finish my story, but at least I've finished it! Better late than never, eh? Read the whole text of my new short story "Quantum Glitch" right here! And don't forget, this is still my first draft, so I'll be editing it as I go along, correctly mistakes, filling out inconsistencies, fleshing out the philosophies, etc. Please enjoy! If you read this story, please leave a commentary for me of some sort, constructively criticizing or not. Here is how to contact me. |   | |

  | Contributed by:Ben I wrote a poem today for an upcoming presentation in English class, so I decided, what the heck, I'll post it! Note, I am an Atheist, so this poem may seem kind of contradictory, but remember: just as someone may say what they do not mean, I am writing what I do not believe. Oh yeah, before I forget: poem copyright 2002 Ben McIlwain.
A Man's Divine Senses
God blinds a man with vision From man's intellect comes nuclear fission Like corrective eye surgery without precision God silences a man by giving the faculty of speech The perfection of God's voice no mere mortal can reach One may only beg for mercy and beseech God congests a man with the sense of smell For a rotten stench will not smell swell And there are no good scents down in Hell God numbs a man by providing touch Bereft in the dark this is man's crutch Only to danger, not safety, will man clutch God deafens a man by providing hearing Because only through ears does one hear leering And excess vanity comes from excess cheering God does many things with a man's senses Our imperfect perception is hindered by fences Put in place to prevent the rise of Ubermensches
