Nano Age Deathmatch

Overview

Nano age deathmatch is, dare, I say, almost trivial. It's owned by one unit and one unit only: the Zeus. Still, it can be fun, because a lot of the time people play WWI->modern, or pre->nano, but you don't make it up to nano. I haven't played nano in a long while except in DM, and in those instances, it's quite fun. When setting up your nano army, keep in mind that you'll be using mainly combat cybers, with a few skywatcher AA's and then a lot of Phoenix fighter/bombers. So get all the essential upgrades for the cybers: range, attack damage, health, etc. For the anti-air, get the ROF, range, and damage upgrades. And for the Phoenixes, be sure to buy the fighter upgrades, NOT the bomber upgrades. Get speed, attack, and flight range. Build time decrease might also be useful, but remember, you're limited to 100 points overall, so you'll have to wrangle out a good balance.

The Starting Stages

Follow the same general starting strategy as the one I've outlined for Industrial DM. Get a good citizen base started before you go for anything else. By the time you have about 4 TCs near untended resources, start building! Start off with about 8 cyber factories, 2 tank factories, and 5 airports. Don't forget to have some citizens building lots of AA guns around your base. You have a lot of resources in DM; use them, because some people tend to go all nuke-bomber rushing!

Gold tends to be more important in the Nano age than iron. You should start getting gold in more quantities and a lot sooner than iron; all your cybers are made from gold, and the fighter/bombers need it too. Don't forget to get that warrior hero, either.

Mobilization and War!

You should get about 60% zeuses, 30% minotaur II's, and 10% skywatcher AA's. The minotaur II's are your anti-tank; and your zeuses are your anti-cyber. Remember to upgrade the range, attack, and then armor (or health). Keep your army in two groups: the main assault gorup, and then the AA. You don't want the AA charging ahead and getting killed! DM nano strategy is so easy - yet I see people mess it up all the time. They bother with infantry, artillery, ultra cybers, or even Ares II! What a waste of resources. My strategy works great - plus, you can throw in some fighter/bombers for a lot of fun (Fighter/bombers don't get good until digital, but when they get good, they get *good).
