Yesterday I had a bit of fun. An article was posted on Slashdot about the former Admiral who's pushing for the Total Information Services act. Basically, it allows the government to invade our privacy even further and share any information they know about citizens with all the other government agencies. In theory, I suppose it could work if it was carefully controlled and used only to track criminals. But it's probably going to end up more like an Orwellian dystopia. So I was mildly amused that the first victim of TIA is former admiral John Poindexter himself. Privacy advocates dug up all his personal information and published it to the web - how much his house is worth, his address, phone number, etc. So I looked up his address on MapQuest and realized that I live less than five miles away!
Naturally, I knew what I had to do. Yesterday after school I took a detour to 10 Barrington Fare, John Poindexter's house, and snapped some photos. Digital photos. And, here they are! Enjoy! Lets give this guy a taste of his own medicine (invasion of privacy) and see how long he can put up with it.

Here's a funny picture I've composed for my Digital Arts class. It's 100Kb, contains some heavily modified background images, and three people. Some of my friends may recognize up to two of these people. Good luck on that.

Here's a composite picture of two statues outside of George Washington University. Some mischevious students added the captions in chalk.

Here's a composite image of an elephant statue near Dupont Square.

Fun with Photoshop:
My head on my cat's body.
Arianna on an iceberg.
Arianna in the desert (b&w).

Some more random images today; have fun looking through them. I'm not really going to describe them, can you figure out why?
And some links:

I've got a bunch of random pictures today for your viewing pleasure; they were accumulating for awhile in the "My Pictures" directory on my Windows machine. So, let's see what we've got: ...
  • IMAGE001: The Air Force's newest stealth plane on the bleeding edge of technology.
  • IMAGE002: An image I pulled down off of NASA from a Hubble Telescope snapshot. This is truly beautiful, and it was my desktop background for a long while.
  • IMAGE003: A very scenic cliff in the clouds.
  • IMAGE004: Some wacky surreal ink mesh type thing; works great as a background for other images.
  • IMAGE005: A trippy ethereal light thing is going on here.
  • IMAGE006, IMAGE007: A really *bad* thing happened on my Windows machine two years ago - my whole mp3 directory went corrupt, all the file names were lost, and the file size allocations were lost as well. As a result: thousands of files that thought themselves to be several gigabytes large; for a total directory size of many terabytes. I restarted the computer and ran ScanDisk, and luckily, the files were recovered.
  • IMAGE008: A FischerTechnik device I built in tenth grade for a school project. This is about the only picture I have of my on this site - those are my hands!
  • IMAGE009: Some dunes. Wow, look at all that sand.
  • IMAGE010: The whole cast of weapons from the Half-Life mod Firearms, which I play about as much as Empire Earth.
  • IMAGE011: This should look familiar; it's the original image I cropped to get the Fyre logo from.
  • IMAGE012, IMAGE013: Some of the characters from Gundam Wing, which I used to watch awhile ago while the episodes were still new.
  • IMAGE013, IMAGE014: The jerk sysop on Binx, my school's shared Linux server, was digitally threatening me over my views on evolution. Wow, he must've been *very* secure in his beliefs to have to threaten me to win an argument. Luckily, he's graduated since then, so I am free to use Binx without the sysop from Hell annoying me.
  • IMAGE015: When you try to run too many mutators in Unreal Tournament, some of them are bound to conflict, and the resulting error box is VERY interesting.
  • IMAGE016: The icon we made for the Mission Possible project (a picture of the device is above).
  • IMAGE017: A nice scenic black and white picture from Yosemite.
  • IMAGE018: A very pretty purplish-blue flower.
  • IMAGE019: Van Gogh's classic "Starry Night," which is a very good painting in my opinion, and I'm no art lover ...
  • IMAGE020: A scenic trees/forest background.
  • IMAGE021: Another one of them scenic backgrounds; look like some of the cottages I saw in Ireland over my visit there last summer.
  • IMAGE022: Sephiroth, the worst villain ever in any videogame, from Final Fantasy VII.
  • IMAGE023: Pretty freaky. This shows the actual actors who'll be in the Scooby Doo movie that's coming out soon. I don't know how I got it, but I think my sister downloaded it for some reason.
  • IMAGE024: A cool computer-generated dust cloud showing effects of gravity and how a solar system might precipitate out over time.
  • IMAGE025: Yet another excellent background from NASA.
  • IMAGE026: ICEBERG, dead ahead! Well, not exactly from that bad Titanic movie. This iceberg is actually pretty.
