Supreme Commander demo is released!
The demo for Supreme Commander, the game I built a new computer for, was just released in the past hour. Supreme Commander is the “spiritual” sequel to the real time strategy game Total Annihilation, that many people (including all of my friends) still consider to be the best RTS ever. I put “spiritual” in quotes because it doesn’t actually reference any of the universe of the old game because of copyright concerns with the publishing company that still owns that game, but rest assured, in everything but name, this is the sequel to Total Annihilation. The story wasn’t the important part anyway; it was the mind-blowing gameplay.
Now if only this freaking download would go faster, I’d be able to report back in with first impressions later tonight. but rest assured, this game is going to be totally freaking awesome. Total Annihilation already had (and still has) the freshest gameplay around, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in the revolutionary sequel.
