		<description>It&#039;s not just about proxy wars, it&#039;s about oil pipelines (what else?). Russia likes to play politics with their energy supplies; hence our support of Georgia and a pipeline alternative. What made the Georgian president decide to try and take back the splinter provinces now is unclear -- maybe Putin being out of the country for the Olympics? But it was a remarkably dumb move, given the size of the Russian military. I have trouble believing the US made this go forward in any direct way.</description>

		<description>Wasn&#039;t / Isn&#039;t Georgia&#039;s main leader dude a CIA plant?  Or am I getting that confused with some other article I glanced over on reddit some time this week?

If so, I guess it makes sense.  Once we get control over Iraq (we&#039;re not leaving, even if Obama is elected, you know), I&#039;m sure they&#039;ll plant another leader there too.

Gotta get a good foothold before you try to take over the Middle East, after all. ^___^</description>
